What did we look for? We gathered data on whether esports betting is offered, how many leagues and tournaments are covered, the number of markets available and if in-play betting is a possibility. We also compared prices on specific competitions in order to determine the best bookmaker for esports odds.

Taking advantage of the best odds available is key to maximising your profit margins. The overall aim of this review is to find the best bookmaker for esports odds so you don’t have to search through each bookmaker site yourself.

We found esports odds and markets available at most of the bookmakers listed above. However, disappointingly six of these operators do not currently offer markets, and so they’re excluded from further analysis for our best bookmaker for esports betting review. The bookmakers in question are:

  • Winner Sports
  • Titanbet
  • Genting Bet
  • Boylesports
  • Sporting Bet
  • Matchbook

We’re disappointed, in particular, with the lack of esports betting opportunities available at Genting Bet, Boylesports, Sporting Bet and Matchbook. We expect, though, that esports betting will become available at these specific bookmakers at some point in the future.

Let’s take a closer look at the data we gathered and our findings as we look to choose our best bookmaker for esports betting.

Top Bookmakers For Esports

Let’s go straight to the top three challenging to be the best bookmaker for esports betting in the UK. We’ll discuss what aspects each scored well in shortly.

According to our calculations from the data gathered, Betway take the number one spot for quality in our best bookmaker for esports betting analysis. Energy Bet and SkyBet have placed second and third respectively, with bet365 making up the rest of our top five.

There may be some surprising names in our top bookmaker list, we’ll analyse why this is the case shortly.

Let’s concentrate on our top three bookmakers. All of Betway, Energy Bet and Sky Bet scored highly in the criteria we analysed. All three offer esports odds covering a range of leagues.

Betway, according to our research, offer odds and markets on nine esports tournaments. We compared the odds available for the CS:GO ESEA MDL match between Bad News Bears against Ex Zone. We found competitive odds here, with little difference between the prices here compared with the best odds we could find.

There were ten separate markets available at Betway for this match, beaten only by Energy Bet with 18. We also found seven other Counter Strike events available to bet on, the same number as Sky Bet and LeoVegas, and just short of BetVictor’s total of eight.

There was no live streaming available on the specific match we researched, but in-play betting was a possibility. Betway are also one of only two bookmakers to offer exclusive esports offers, along with Unibet.

So, Betway take the crown for our overall best bookmaker for esports betting. We were also impressed with second place Energy Bet. Energy Bet offer odds and markets on fewer tournaments than many in our bookmaker comparison, but make up for this when we compared the odds for Bad News Bears v Ex Zone.

Energy Bet also offered more markets on this game than any other bookmaker tested.

Onto third placed Sky Bet. There are eight esports leagues available to bet on here, just one short of number one Betway. You could bet on four separate markets on the Counter Strike match we reviewed, with in-play betting a possibility also.

SkyBet finished just ahead of Bet At Home. Our fourth placed bookmaker were the only operator to offer live streaming on the event we researched.

If you’re looking to bet on a range of esports tournaments, it’s imperative you find the best bookmaker for esports betting that offer odds on the most leagues and competitions available.

We found that the following bookmakers offered odds on the most number of leagues:

  • bet365
  • Bet At Home
  • Betway
  • SkyBet
  • LeoVegas
  • 888Sport

Bet365 and Bet At Home share the crown for offering the highest number of leagues and tournaments, with 11 separate competitions available to bet on. This number encompasses the following:

  • CS:GO
  • Dota2
  • Hearthstone
  • League Of Legends
  • MTG
  • NBA 2K
  • Overwatch
  • PUBG
  • R6
  • Rocket League
  • SCII
  • SFV

Lowest Bookmaker Margin

On specific esports events, commission comes into play. We analysed how much commission each bookmaker charges to determine this aspect of our best bookmaker for esports betting guide.

We return to our example of the CS:GO ESEA MDL game between Bad News Bears v Ex Zone. For this match, we found that the following bookmakers applied the least amount of commission.

  • Betfair
  • Paddy Power
  • Betfred
  • SkyBet
  • Energy Bet
  • bet365

Betfair and Paddy Power share top place here, charging commission at 6.44%.

In general terms, the biggest number of CS events and odds can be found at BetVictor. However, for our best bookmaker for esports betting review, we’ve taken many other aspects into consideration.

Live streaming for Bad News Bears v Ex Zone was only available at Bet At Home. All of the bookmakers we researched did offer in-play odds.

Taking advantage of esports promotions and bonus opportunities can increase your profit margins as well as a number of other highlights. We found, though, that only two bookmakers offered esports-specific bonuses. These are Betway, who head our list of the best bookmaker for esports betting guide, and Unibet.

If you’re new to our bookmaker comparison pages, you might be surprised to see Betway named as our best bookmaker for esports betting. We’re not. Betway have performed well in all of our previous bookmaker comparison research, and it’s no shock to see them do well here.

Similarly, Energy Bet and Bet At Home may, at first, seem surprising names to feature on our list, but both appear to be underrated operators. Indeed, Bet At Home were the only bookmaker to offer live streaming on the particular esports event we researched.

However, it’s Betway who have come out on top in our best bookmaker for esports betting review. Whichever bookmaker you choose to sign up with, ensure they offer you exactly what you’re looking for in your esports betting.
