There are eight meetings in Britain and Ireland on a very busy Friday, with competitive flat racing dominating from Ascot, Chepstow, Cork, Down Royal, Newmarket, Thirsk and York. NH fans have the card at Uttoxeter to get studying, with the action getting underway at 2.10pm at the Midlands venue.

Ascot 3:00 (UK time)
Mick Appleby’s 5-y-o handicapper has been in career best form in recent weeks, coming from last to first in style at Doncaster earlier in the month over this 7f trip (quickened readily to pounce from a poor position on fast ground). He now steps markedly up in grade to a Class 4 at Ascot on Friday, but the assured strong pace in this much better race will be a big plus and he can swoop late under Ryan Moore if enjoying any luck in running.
Odds: NA
City Streak
Ascot 3:35 (UK time)
Andrew Balding’s consistent 4-y-o had excuses when well supported for a rare below par effort last time out at Windsor, dropped out in a poor position initially and unable to sustain his run from rear parked wide. He had been running really well previously in warm company over these kind of trips, and can resume his progress here (with the booking of Jason Watson a plus).
Odds: NA
