Friday’s Horse Racing Tips: Cheltenham, November 17th

Today’s Horse Racing Tips – November 17th
There are six meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with Dundalk (AW), Newcastle (AW) and Wolverhampton (AW) providing some competitive all-weather action to keep bookmakers and punters busy through to the evening under the lights. Jumping fans have Cheltenham, Doncaster and Wexford to get stuck into on soft ground, with some really classy handicaps to solve across three competitive cards. The November meeting at Prestbury Park is sure to attract the vast majority of the betting interest, with some future stars on show and the top yards from Britain and Ireland out in force over the next three days.

Today’s Daily Nap
Calico
Cheltenham 1:45 (UK time)
Dan Skelton’s 7-y-o ended last season with a tired fall at Aintree behind the top class Jonbon, but he had been progressing nicely over fences before that and can resume his upward curve at Cheltenham on Friday. He has won 2 of his 7 starts over fences so far (so there should be more to come this season in handicaps), and encouragingly he ran really well over timber on his only previous visit to Prestbury Park (2nd in a huge field under a patient ride).
Odds: NA
Today’s Value Angle
Brook Bay
Cheltenham 4:05 (UK time)
Jonjo O’Neill’s unexposed novice has shaped nicely in two fair maiden hurdles already this season, and he is just the type to improve now going handicapping for the first time from an attractive opening mark. This 2m trip is likely to be a bare miminum for the former point winner in Ireland, but they are bound to go a very strong gallop in this big field and Nick Scholfield can weave his way through up the stamina-sapping hill on the expected soft ground.
Odds: NA
