Today’s Horse Racing Tips – May 3rd
There are six scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with NH fans in for an informative afternoon as the Punchestown festival reaches its fourth day in front of huge crowds (and Cheltenham stage their popular hunter chase evening). Flat fans have Goodwood, Musselburgh, Newmarket and Newcastle (AW) to study on drying ground, with some classy Group prizes to try to solve at HQ (and the top local yards sure to be well represented).

Goodwood 1.30 (UK time)
David Menuisier’s useful colt returned to the fray with a creditable third over 7f at Deauville last month, and he is entitled to sharpen up fitness-wise for that first start in over five months. He remains with upside this season after just six career starts, will relish the return to a mile trip, and seems sure to get a confident ride from rear (with Jamie Spencer taking over in the saddle).
Odds: 2.50
Dream Composer
Goodwood 3.50 (UK time)
James Evans sprinter had excuses when hammered down to 4/1f in a huge field at Newmarket last time out, squeezed out leaving the stalls and never reaching a challenging position over five furlongs. He shaped really well on his seasonal reappearance when finishing a cracking fifth, and a return to his favoured course and distance at Goodwood can see him bounce back to his best under Dougie Costello.
Odds: 7.00
