Monday's Horse Racing Tips: Ayr, August 1st
Today’s Racing Tips – August 1st
There are 6 meetings on a busy Monday in Britain and Ireland, with turf action from Ayr, Carlisle, Naas, Ripon and Windsor. There is sure to be a big summer crowd at the Berkshire venue for their popular evening fixtures, with no less than six handicaps on the card and fast ground conditions assured. For NH fans there is an ultra competitive card at Cork starting at 2.30pm, and the Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott yards are sure to be well represented (both in typically blistering form at the moment).

Today’s Daily Nap
Ayr 1:48 (UK time)
Jim Goldie’s handicapper has been ticking over nicely in recent months in Scotland for Jim Goldie, running himself fit at the same time as his handicap mark falls steadily. He went with zest from the front at Musselburgh last time out, and should now be peaking upped to a more suitable trip at Ayr on Monday.
Today’s Value Angle
Earn Your Stripes
Ayr 2:18 (UK time)
Mike Smith’s consistent 6-y-o has been running well all summer in victory and defeat, and had excuses for a slightly lesser effort at this track 7 days ago. He raced up on a very strong pace over six furlongs that day (wilted at the furlong pole having been harried on the lead), and the drop back to 5f on quickening ground should suit ideally.
Odds are best odds available as at 2am August 1st 2022. Odds may now differ.
