There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Monday, with low grade competitive flat racing dominating from Ayr, Ballinrobe, Beverley and Windsor. NH fans have the card at the unique Cartmel to get studying, with the action getting underway at 2.10pm at the Cumbrian venue and conditions sure to be very testing after a wet weekend in the Lakes.

John Quinn’s unexposed sprinter has yet to win in six career starts so far, but he has caught the eye on a couple of occasions under patient rides and is potentially well treated now back on the turf. A switch to frontrunning could be on the cards at Ayr on Monday with Jason Hart in the saddle, and this looks a very winnable Class 6 contest.

Jim Goldie has been dominating proceedings at the Scottish tracks in recent weeks, and his battle-hardened handicapper has optimum conditions here as he bids to snap a losing run stretching back to Newcastle on the all-weather in January (won twice on consecutive days). He was unable to dominate when a fair fifth at Carlisle last time out (fading up the final hill), but seems sure to try to make all here under the red hot Paul Mulrennan.
