There are five scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Monday, with flat fans in for a busy afternoon and evening of varied action. They have Ayr, Ripon and Wolverhampton (AW) to study, with some tough handicaps to try to solve at the Scottish venue on eased ground. Jumping followers have Roscommon and Worcester to study, with plenty of rain arriving recently to ensure decent field sizes for the time of year.

Winter Crown
Ayr 2.55 (UK time)
Julie Camacho’s sprinter has run well in defeat on all three runs so far this season in fair company, and can take advantage of a slight drop in grade at Ayr on Monday. He has only one career victories on his CV, but has hinted that his turn was near twice in recent months, and has handled plenty of cut in the ground previously (if the forecast showers do arrive and dramatically ease underfoot conditions).
Odds: 4.00
Ayr Poet
Ayr 3.30 (UK time)
Jim Goldie has his team in top form at the moment, with eight winners in the last fortnight, and his exposed handicapper is worth chancing to bounce back after a poor run last time out (outclassed in stronger company). He had shaped with plenty of promise at this track on his first two starts of the season, and the drop down to Class 6 company can see him bounce back to winning form under the promising claimer Lauren Young.
Odds: 13.00
