There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Monday, with Newcastle (AW) providing some competitive low grade all-weather action to keep bookmakers and punters busy through to the evening. Jumps fans have three cards to get stuck into on testing ground, with Galway, Huntingdon and Wexford all putting on varied fixtures with some fascinating runners from the top yards reappearing.

Jamie Snowden’s stayer has been running with credit in defeat all summer (remains a maiden after 14 runs under Rules), and bumped into an unexposed one when second to Coal Fire at Newton Abbot last time out on testing ground. He stays 3m2f really well (just lacking a change of gear at the business end of his races), and a positive ride is on the cards here from regular rider Gavin Sheehan (with the forecast rain a positive to his chance).

Lucy Wadham does well every season with a relatively small team of jumpers, and her scopey 7-y-o is expected to make a winning chasing debut at Huntingdon on Monday under Tom Cannon. He won 2 from 13 over hurdles at a fair level, always seemingly best served by proper soft ground, and this step up to 2m7f is expected to suit ideally now switched to the larger obstacles after seven months off the track.
