There are six scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Bank Holiday Monday, with NH fans in for a busy afternoon. They have Ballinroble, Cartmel and Huntingdon to study on quickening summer ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Cumbrian venue as their season begins (and local ace Dudley Moffatt sure to be well represented). Flat fans have low grade action to study at Leicester, Redcar and Yarmouth, with the handicaps looking especially competitive for the time of year.

Churchill Rose
Leicester 2.30 (UK time)
Charlie Fellowes handicapper has excuses for an expensive defeat at Yarmouth last time out, swerving leaving the stalls and forced to race wide as she set too slow a gallop in the early stages. This more galloping track upped to 1m4f promises to suit ideally, and she remains with upside on the turf after just five career starts so far (with the promising claimer Mikkel Mortensen taking off a very handy 5lb).
Odds: 5.50
Indemnity
Leicester 4.15 (UK time)
Roger Varian’s unexposed performer went into the notebook on his seasonal/handicap debut at Goodwood earlier in the month, missing the break/too free initially and tiring from the furlong pole having made smooth headway from rear. He should relish the drop back 2f to a mile at Leicester on Monday, with James Doyle booked and his mark very lenient on the promise shown in the frame in a light campaign last term.
Odds: 5.00
