There are nine scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Easter Monday, with NH fans in for a very busy afternoon of competitive action across the country. They have Cork, Fairyhouse, Fakenham, Huntingdon , Leicester and Plumpton to study on testing ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Cambridgeshire venue. Flat fans have decent grade action to study at Kempton (AW), Redcar and Wolverhampton (AW), with big fields assured on the turf as the season gets underway.
In this article:
Flemen’s Tipple
Plumpton 3.00 (UK time)
Andy Irvine has his small team in decent form at the moment, and his consistent maiden handicapper has been found a good opportunity in a very weak looking race at Plumpton on Easter Monday. He has yet to win in nine starts so far over hurdles, but has shown ability in the frame on a couple of occasions at this track in better races, and this sharp left-handed course over 3m1f is definitely his optimum on better spring ground.
Odds: 5.50
Furkash
Plumpton 3.35 (UK time)
Joe Tizzard’s frustrating performer now has a career record of 0 from 16 over fences, but he is well treated now on the pick of his placed form and had excuses for a lesser effort on very deep ground last time out at Bangor (free initially/got very tired behind two subsequent winners). This better drying ground is a big positive to his chances of finally getting off the mark in this sphere, and regular rider Brendan Powell should get a strong gallop to aim at late on.
Odds: 6.00
