Chris Gordon’s unexposed chaser made a winning return after 7 months off at Fontwell at the start of the month, and there should be a bit more improvement in the tank after just three career starts over the larger obstacles. He showed a good attitude under pressure there to edge out the more experienced Bolsover Bill, and a small weights rise should be no issue at all at Plumpton on Monday (with the excellent Gavin Sheehan back in the saddle and the yard now in red hot form).

Fergal O’Brien’s mare is unexposed in handicaps after just five runs over timber, and she shaped a lot better than the bare result over 2m4f at Worcester last time out (going off hard in front but fading out of things at the business end). The drop back to two miles at this sharp track should be ideal, and her cause is aided by the promising Nick Slatter taking off a handy 5lb in a weak looking class 5.
