Andrew Balding has his team in blistering form as usual with 13 winners in the last fortnight at a 25pc strike rate, and his well regarded filly created a deep impression when making a winning debut at Newbury at the start of the month (despite racing freely under restraint). She now steps straight up in class to Group 3 company at Ascot on Saturday, but the faster pace in this much stronger race should suit and she can maintain her unbeaten record under the top class Oisin Murphy.

Harry Charlton’s progressive performer comes into this valuable midsummer prize fresh after just two starts this season, and he looked an unlucky loser of the Hampton Court Stakes at the Royal meeting in June (left with a lot of ground to make up from miles off the pace by Buick/winner Jayarbe had flown when finally getting going). Callum Shepherd is likely to be a lot more positive on this occasion, with his stamina for the 1m2f now well established.

2:05	York	FARO DE SAN JUAN	There are so many speedball trailblazers in the line up for this typically competitive York sprint, that a pace collapse could be on the cards and Dylan Cunha’s hold-up performer could be the one to pick up the pieces late and fast. He went into the notebook on last time out, finishing well from an impossible early position, and can swoop late under Charlie Deutsch.
2:25	Ascot	SIRONA	David Menuisier’s useful filly posted a cracking effort at Haydock in June, and shaped a lot better than the bare result in the Falmouth at Newmarket last time out. Oisin Murphy now replaces Rossa Ryan in the saddle, and there is plenty more improvement in the tank after just three starts since arriving from the Charlie Johnston yard.
2:40	York	RADIO GOO GOO	Dave Evans battle-hardened and pacey sprinter has been running well in victory and defeat all summer, and this flat six furlongs on drying ground would be her optimum conditions under the excellent Richard Kingscote.
3:00	Ascot	CARRYTHEONE	Michael Bell’s improving handicapper has given the strong impression he is a lot better than his mark on two occasions since winning at Newmarket in May on fast ground, and he seems sure to go close here if seeing any daylight in the closing stages of this valuable seven furlong contest under Pat Dobbs.
