Today’s Racing Tips – November 12th

The second day of the Cheltenham November meeting is very much the highlight of the action covered by the ITV cameras on Saturday, with a huge crowd sure to be in attendance and big fields certainly chasing the excellent prize money on the rain-eased ground. There is a terrific mix of quality, with the Grade 2 Novice Chase at 1.45pm sure to produce a future star or two from the top stables, and ultra competitive handicaps over hurdles and fences. For all-weather fans, there are two valuable listed prizes from Lingfield on the programme, with runners qualifying for the big finals day later in the year.

In this artice:

Today’s Daily Nap

Shearer

Cheltenham 2:55 (UK time)

Paul Nicholls has been operating at around a 40pc strike rate since the start of October, and his progressive hurdler has really thrived over timber in the last couple of months. He now has to defy a much stiffer mark in warmer company, but race-fitness could count for plenty here and a hat-trick is very much on the cards under the red hot Harry Cobden.

Odds: NA

Today’s Value Angle

Glory and Fortune

Cheltenham 1:45 (UK time)

Tom Lacey’s useful hurdler should strip fitter for his first run in six months at Ffos Las in October (useful form in the Welsh Champion hurdle), and is worth another chance back over fences after two unsuccessful previous attempts back in the winter of 2020.

Odds: NA

Odds are best odds available as at 9am November 12th 2022. Odds may now differ.

ITV Racing Tips – Saturday November 12th

Time (UK) Track Horse Analysis
1:45 Cheltenham Glory and Fortune Tom Lacey’s useful hurdler should strip fitter for his first run in six months at Ffos Las in October (useful form in the Welsh Champion hurdle), and is worth another chance back over fences after two unsuccessful previous attempts back in the winter of 2020.
2:20 Cheltenham Stolen Silver Sam Thomas’s progressive handicapper ended last season with a career best effort over this course and distance, and he is fancied to resume where he left off by defying this career high mark. Sam Twiston-Davies is sure to be positive from the tape, and his bold jumping should be a real asset with the yard now hitting top form after a quiet summer.
2:35 Lingfield Mums Tipple Richard Hannon’s 5-y-o has been running well on the turf all through the summer months, and is expected to relish a return to the polytrack at Lingfield on Saturday. The booking of William Buick certainly catches the eye, and this valuable listed prize represents a slight drop in class.
2:55 Cheltenham Shearer Paul Nicholls has been operating at around a 40pc strike rate since the start of October, and his progressive hurdler has really thrived over timber in the last couple of months. He now has to defy a much stiffer mark in warmer company, but race-fitness could count for plenty here and a hat-trick is very much on the cards under the red hot Harry Cobden.
3:10 Lingfield Harrovian John and Thady Gosden’s useful performer shaped a lot better than the bare result at Sandown last time out, pulling hard and just failing to see things out in a fair listed contest. He should settle a lot better round here off a decent gallop, and remains with scope to keep on improving after just two career starts on all-weather surfaces.
3:30 Cheltenham Guernesey Phillip Hobbs now has his team firing on all cylinders, and his progressive hurdler is fancied to make amends for an early unseat at Sandown (when very well backed). He impressed when winning on decent ground at Warwick in October, and this strong run race over 2m5f should suit ideally under the promising 7lb claimer Jack Martin.
