Today’s Racing Tips – November 19th

There is a traditional ITV 7 on Saturday, with top class jumps action from Ascot and Haydock covered (and the rain earlier in the week meaning the field sizes should be competitive for the excellent prize money on offer). The Grade 1 Betfair Chase at 3.00pm is the best in terms of quality (with the return of the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner A Plus Tard), but the betting interest seems sure to focus in on some of the red hot handicaps across both cards.

In this artice:

Today’s Daily Nap

Might

Haydock 2:25 (UK time)

Harry Fry now has his team in excellent form, and this progressive novice starts out into handicaps from an attractive opening mark at Haydock on Saturday. He ran with credit in defeat in Graded company on his last two runs last winter, and there is plenty more improvement in the tank as his stamina is drawn out further this time around (just four runs over hurdles after winning his bumper).

Odds: NA

Today’s Value Angle

Amoola Gold

Ascot 3:15 (UK time)

Dan Skelton’s useful handicapper is a real Ascot course specialist, and is entitled to strip a good deal fitter for last months seasonal reappearance. He is very well handled from off the pace by Bridget Andrews, and the likely strong pace up front should play to his strengths for a customary late charge.

Odds: NA

Odds are best odds available as at 9am November 19th 2022. Odds may now differ.

ITV Racing Tips – Saturday November 19th

Time (UK) Track Horse Analysis
1:50 Haydock Erne River Nick Kent’s progressive young chaser really impressed in winning 2 of his 4 runs over fences last season, jumping soundly on soft ground and capable of maintaining a strong gallop throughout. He fully merits a step up in class at Haydock on Saturday, and might just represent better value than the top southern yards runners at the head of the market.
2:05 Ascot L’Homme Presse Venetia Williams has been waiting patiently for the rain to arrive for the last couple of months, and her top class chaser seems sure to be primed to make a winning reappearance in this valuable Grade 2 prize. He was a revelation last season, winning 5 of his 6 starts over fences and impressing with the way he travelled and jumped out of testing conditions.
2:25 Haydock Might Harry Fry now has his team in excellent form, and this progressive novice starts out into handicaps from an attractive opening mark at Haydock on Saturday. He ran with credit in defeat in Graded company on his last two runs last winter, and there is plenty more improvement in the tank as his stamina is drawn out further this time around (just four runs over hurdles after winning his bumper).
2:40 Ascot Constitution Hill Nicky Henderson’s star has always been held in the highest regard at home, and this looks a relatively simple task as he plots a light campaign towards a tilt at the Champion hurdle in March.
3:00 Haydock A Plus Tard The Gold Cup winner looks sure to be extremely hard to beat for this small-field renewal of the Grade 1 Betfair Chase, with fitness unlikely to be an issue and the rain easing conditions earlier in the week very much in his favour. He is a smooth travelling sound jumper with a rare turn of foot, and is expertly handled by Rachael Blackmore.
3:15 Ascot Amoola Gold Dan Skelton’s useful handicapper is a real Ascot course specialist, and is entitled to strip a good deal fitter for last months seasonal reappearance. He is very well handled from off the pace by Bridget Andrews, and the likely strong pace up front should play to his strengths for a customary late charge.
3:35 Haydock The Big Breakaway “Joe Tizzard’s chaser has a touch of class when things fall right, and fresh first time up might just be the time to catch him over this stamina sapping trip. He is now well handicapped after failing to win in four runs last season, and plenty from the yard have been returning in rude health this time around.
