There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Sunday, with Beverley, Goodwood, Naas and Yarmouth sure to attract huge holiday crowds for some competitive turf action.
In this article:
Cray Luck
Goodwood 2:25 (UK time)
Roger Millman’s exposed 5-y-o mare looked a sprint handicapper to follow when just denied on the nod at Windsor in May, and she can be forgiven lesser effort there last time out (very awkwardly away from the stalls and never landed a blow). She now has Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle at Goodwood on Sunday, with fast ground ideal and her mark definitely on the lenient side with more luck in running.
Odds: NA
Sovereign Spirit
Goodwood 3:35 (UK time)
Andrew Balding’s progressive handicapper has been running well in victory and defeat all summer over these middle distances, and shaped like one still ahead of the game under a poor ride in the Shergar Cup at Ascot last time out (wide trip throughout). There is still improvement to come as he becomes more settled in the early stages of his races, and these drying ground conditions would be his optimum.
Odds: NA
Odds are best odds available as at 2am August 27th 2023. Odds may now differ.
