There are three meetings in Britain and Ireland on Sunday, with NH fans in for a busy afternoon. There is competitive action from Cork, Huntingdon and Kelso to get stuck into on very heavy ground, with some decent handicaps to solve at the Cambridgeshire venue in particular alongside a few potential star novices from the top southern yards (providing the meetings pass inspections).
In this article:
Matchless
Huntingdon 2:25 (UK time)
Jeannie Candlish’s progressive 5-y-o posted a career best effort when second in a small field at Doncaster last time out, and has only been nudged up a pound for that cracking effort. He did not enjoy the run of the race there ridden with more patience than normal, and a return to front-running tactics at this sharper track should suit ideally on deep ground that he handles well.
Odds: NA
Anglers Crag
Huntingdon 3:25 (UK time)
Brian Ellison usually does well with a small team for the winter months, and his unexposed handicapper has optimum conditions at Huntingdon on Sunday. He ran with promise in four runs over fences for David Pipe last season, and the booking of Harry Cobden certainly catches the eye on this reappearance dropping right down in class.
Odds: NA
