There are 3 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Sunday, with a top class card at Fairyhouse very much the highlight. There are no less than four Graded races on a compelling card, with the Grade 1 Hattons Grace at 2.30pm sure to be eagerly awaited with the likely reappearance of champion hurdler Honeysuckle. Huntingdon and Kelso also have plenty of interesting races at a lower level, with 8 handicaps across the two cards, and the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase providing some welcome quality at 2.55pm

Alex Hales’ battle-hardened chaser impressed when winning an Aintree Grade 1 in April, and returned to his best when just touched off by Beauport at Carlisle in October. His race fitness and attitude under pressure should count for plenty at Huntingdon on Sunday, and the decent ground will be ideal under regular rider Kielan Woods.

John Quinn’s handicapper thrived on the flat throughout the summer months, and returned to hurdling with a cracking fourth in a competitive Cheltenham handicap last month (did not get the clearest of runs through from rear). He is a smooth traveller who should relish this relative speed test on decent ground, and should get a decent pace to aim at under Billy Garrity.
