There are 4 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Sunday, with all the betting interest sure to focus on the latest Sunday series fixture at Sandown. There are six valuable handicaps on the card, with decent field sizes expected after the rain finally arrived at the Esher venue through the week. Elsewhere, there are turf fixtures at Brighton, Naas and Yarmouth to keep bookmakers and punters busy through the afternoon.
In this article:
Edward Cornelius
Sandown 4:12 (UK time)
Keith Dalgleish’s consistent sprinter has been running well all summer since winning at Thirsk in April, and he could take plenty of passing here if able to dominate from the stalls. He rather over-raced in a muddling small field last time out, and the demands of this valuable Sunday series handicap should be much more suitable under
Callum Rodriguez.
Odds: NA
Iatos Angel
Sandown 3:42 (UK time)
Keith Dalgleish places his horses carefully and has an excellent strike rate as a result, and this progressive filly is fancied to make a winning start in handicaps at Sandown on Sunday. She has improved run to run in three career starts so far, overcoming rearing as she left the stalls to swoop late at Hamilton in July in a fair maiden. The stiff uphill finish back at five furlongs should suit ideally, and her opening mark may underestimate her potential to keep on finding more as she gathers more racing experience.
Odds: NA
