There are six scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on a very busy Thursday, with NH fans in for an informative afternoon and evening. They have Perth, Warwick and Wexford to study on improving spring ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Midlands venue (and local trainer Dan Skelton sure to be well represented as he chases down the trainers championship). The flat action comes from Beverley, Chelmsford (AW) and Tipperary, with competitive action to study in Yorkshire and the handicaps looking especially competitive for the time of year.

Global Skies
Beverley 3.55 (UK time)
Ben Brookhouse is a very shrewd operator who doesn’t miss too often when the cash is down, and his unexposed 3-y-o looks on an attractive mark now going handicapping for the first time at Beverley on Thursday. He has plenty of testing ground form previously on the turf (heavy ground likely here), with the excellent Jack Gilligan booked another positive to his chance of defying topweight in a weak looking Class 4.
Odds: 5.50
Lakota Blue
Beverley 2.45 (UK time)
Nigel Tinkler has his small northern team in excellent form (two winners in the last 14 days), and his talented sprinter can take advantage of a drop down in class at Beverley on Thursday. He ran with credit in defeat in stronger races for most of last summer, and the booking of the excellent Rowan Scott suggests he will be primed to make a winning reappearance after 208 days on the sidelines. This Class 4 sprint has a few trailblazers in the line up, and he can forge ahead late up the hill if seeing any daylight from the furlong pole.
Odds: 7.00
