There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with Wolverhampton (AW) alone providing some competitive all-weather action to keep bookmakers and punters busy in the evening. Jumps fans have three cards to get stuck into on very testing ground, with Carlisle, Clonmel and Ludlow all putting on varied fixtures with some fascinating runners from the top yards reappearing.
In this article:
Captain Quint
Carlisle 2:45 (UK time)
Rose Dobbin’s 7-y-o has won 2 from 9 over fences to date, and remains a young chaser to follow in the north this winter (particularly granted his optimum soft ground). He shaped really well over this course and distance back in March in a strong race for the grade (left with plenty to do), and seems sure to be primed to make a winning reappearance after six months off the track under regular rider Craig Nichol.
Odds: NA
Holly
Carlisle 3:20 (UK time)
Jonjo O’Neill has landed running as the jumps season proper gets underway, and his lightly raced 6-y-o mare was a huge eyecatcher on handicap debut at Chepstow last October (rider motionless in rear and finished strongly when the race was over). She was again ridden with little enterprise when last seen out at Exeter, and can leave the bare form well behind on this return to the fray at Carlisle on Thursday.
Odds: NA
