There are six meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with competitive flat action keeping punters and bookmakers busy all through the afternoon and evening. Fixtures at Chelmsford (AW), Chester, Southwell (AW) and Thirsk provide a mixture of competitive handicaps and maidens (with the quality action coming on the second day of the May meeting on the Roodee). There is NH action from Clonmel and Huntingdon, with the new jumps season getting off to a busy start on decent drying ground.

He is just the type to thrive over stamina sapping distances this summer, and seems sure to be fully primed to land the Group 3 Ormonde Stakes under Jim Crowley at Chester on Wednesday.
