There are six meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with competitive flat action keeping punters and bookmakers busy all through the afternoon and evening. Fixtures at Ayr, Chelmsford (AW), Lingfield , Redcar and Salisbury provide mainly modest handicaps for the off-course industry, but the recent drying mild weather should mean ground conditions start to improve across the country. There is low grade NH action from Tipperary, with the twilight fixture getting underway at 5.20pm.

Andrew Balding’s 3-y-o improved to land strong market support on the all-weather at Kempton last time out in fair novice company, and is worth sticking with now switched to the turf and into handicaps from a potentially lenient opening mark. The booking of Oisin Murphy certainly ibcreaes confidence on drying ground that should suit ideally, and he remains open to plenty more improvement after just four career starts (very green as a juvenile last season).
