Colin Tizzard’s winning pointer/hurdler has shown promise in fair company over fences in three starts so far over the larger obstacles, and this step up to three miles on decent ground promises to bring about plenty of improvement. He is a freegoing sort who needs to settle better in the early stages, and there is no doubt he is now extremely well handicapped if getting his act together over this longer trip for the first time under Brendan Powell.

Dan Skelton’s chaser has run to a fair level in defeat since getting off the mark over fences at Southwell in November, and the good ground and strong pace expected at Kempton on Friday should suit ideally. He is likely to be ridden patiently from rear by Harry Skelton, and this 2m2f intermediate trip could be his optimum with a couple of frontrunners potentially dueling on the lead.
