A low key start to the working week in the UK, after all the excitement of the Cheltenham November meeting over the previous three days, with just Leicester and Plumpton providing two low grade NH cards. The ground has dried out at both tracks to good or faster, and field sizes are fairly small as a result.

Gary Moore has his team in blistering form at the moment, with 12 winners in the last fortnight at a 30pc strike rate, and this unexposed novice really caught the eye on his Rules debut at Lingfield 15 days ago. He was dropped out last in the soft ground that day, eventually running on strongly under a hand ride to take a never dangerous third, and is expected to improve dramatically for that initial experience.

Emma Lavelle’s maiden shaped well in the frame in fair company over hurdles, and should have learnt plenty from a fair second to Isolate on his chasing debut at Kempton last month. He will relish the expected fast ground at Plumpton on Monday, and the booking of a useful 10lb claimer should ease the burden of topweight now dropping down in class.
