There are four race meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with competitive jumps cards at Wetherby and Gowran Park the highlight. All-weather fans can focus on the afternoon card at Southwell, with a twilight meeting at Newcastle  to follow under lights from 3.53pm.

The 8-y-o is a smooth traveller from off the pace, always produced late to utilise his smart turn of foot, and he shaped really well in strong company last time out at Carlisle behind the prolific Papa Tango Charly.

Joanne Foster’s handicapper has slid down the weights rapidly after struggling to make an impact so far this winter, but he is now very well treated and a return to frontrunning tactics can spark him back to life now under Nathan Moscrop. He caught the eye last time at Catterick when parked widest and dropped out initially, and has always run well at this track when dominating.
