There are 3 UK race meetings on Tuesday, with modest jumps action at Catterick and Wincanton. Both tracks could do with some rain to help field sizes, with the ground currently riding good, good to soft in places at both for declarations. There is a competitive all-weather twilight card at Newcastle, with six handicaps for punters to get stuck into from 4pm.

Victor Dartnall’s bumper winner has shaped with plenty of promise under negative rides in two runs so far over hurdles this season, and is expected to improve for more positive tactics at Wincanton on Wednesday. He has plenty of scope to do a lot better in time (probably over fences sooner rather than later), but should relish this speed track on decent ground
under Alan Johns.

Paul Nicholls winning hurdler has bumped into a couple of smart novices twice this season in small fields, racing rather freely and unable to make any impression on Rockstar Ronnie last time out. He remains with upside over fences as he settles down in the early stages, and should go really close here under Harry Cobden.
