There are four race-meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, starting the new month with three all-weather cards at Lingfield, Kempton (twilight) and Dundalk. Jumps fans can enjoy a varied card at Haydock, where the veterans chase at 2.50pm is sure to attract all the usual suspects for a 3m1f stamina test.

This step up to three miles should suit ideally, and he remains with plenty of scope over hurdles before going chasing next season.
