There are 3 meetings in the UK on Wednesday, the last day of racing until Boxing day on the 26th of December. The main meeting comes from Ludlow, where decent ground is expected and the emphasis will firmly be on speed round the sharp right handed circuit. All-weather fans can get stuck into two competitive cards, with Wolverhampton and Southwell (twilight fixture starting at 4pm) both attracting big fields of mainly low grade handicaps

Kim Bailey’s mare impressed on her seasonal reappearance at Fontwell on soft ground 15 days ago, jumping and travelling well under a patient ride and easing clear up the hill. She will relish a step up to 2m5f at Ludlow on Wednesday, and is confidently expected to defy a penalty under David Bass.

Fergal O’Brien’s useful handicapper has not been seen to best effect on either run this season in warm company (dropped out in rear last time), and a return to positive front-running tactics can see him back to form round this sharp track.
