There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with three jumps meetings at Hexham, Ffos Las and Warwick alongside a twilight picture on the all-weather polytrack at Dundalk. The field sizes are competitive at Ffos Las where soft ground is very welcome to the trainers with runners declared there, who for many weeks now have been praying for rain to ease underfoot conditions. At Warwick the highlight on the card is the valuable mares chase at 12.30pm, and Nicky Henderson will be looking to improve his excellent record in these kind of races.

Docte Dina
Warwick, 12:30pm
Nicky Henderson’s mare shaped really well on her chasing debut at Ludlow, and has been given 165 days off the track since disappointing next time at Wincanton. The drying ground will suit and she remains with plenty of upside over fences after just two runs in this sphere (useful placed form without winning over hurdles and very much a chaser on looks).
Espirit de Somoza
Warwick, 2:15pm
Jane Williams handicapper shaped well over 2m5f at Wincanton last time out on his first start since undergoing a wind operation, and this drop back in trip going left handed should be ideal at Warwick on Wednesday. He is not the easiest ride (hung under pressure off the bridle), but a strong pace is assured here and this mark is on the lenient side if everything clicks.
