Michael Smith’s consistent, if slightly frustrating veteran 6-y-o handicapper has generally run well since winning over this course and distance last July, and looked primed to strike again when finishing strongly from a poor position last time out upped to 1m5f. He is always ridden for luck from off the gallop, but has plenty of pace to aim at here under Frankie McDonald (with a few likely frontrunners in the line up for this Class 4 contest), and can pick them off late up the long Ayr straight.

He has won 5 of his 21 career starts, and a positive frontrunning ride against the favoured far rail could have these Class 3 rivals out of their comfort zone from an early stage.
