Today’s Horse Racing Tips – August 1st
There are six meetings in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, with competitive flat racing dominating from Beverley, Goodwood, Thirsk and Yarmouth. The opening day of the Glorious Goodwood meeting is very much the highlight, with high class Group action mixed with some fiendishly difficult handicaps for punters to solve. NH fans have the evening card at Worcester to get studying, with the action getting underway at 6.00pm at the Midlands venue, while Day 2 of the Galway festival provides a cracking mixture of flat and jumps.

Robert Cowell always has a strong hand in the sprinting division, and his classy 5-y-o has been shaping well in warm company on all four runs so far this summer. He overdid things from the front (racing on a dead rail) when well backed at Sandown last time out, and more patient tactics are likely here with Jack Mitchell taking over in the saddle.

David Menusier’s useful handicapper has won 5 of his 15 career starts, and is worth forgiving a lesser effort when well backed at Pontefract last time out (overdid things from the front harried on the lead). A more patient ride is on the cards here with William Buick taking over in the saddle, and he showed this track suited ideally when winning impressively at this meeting in 2022.
