There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, with competitive flat racing dominating from Bellewstown, Musselburgh, Newbury and Ripon. Jumping fans have an evening card at Worcester to study, with the action getting underway at 5.15pm and the recent rain very welcome.

Newbury 2:30 (UK time)
Tom Dascombe’s unexposed juvenile ran really well when fifth in a warm novice stakes at York last time out (well backed for the first time and up on an overly fast pace throughout until fading inside the final furlong), and he now starts off into handicaps from an attractive opening mark. There should be plenty more improvement in the tank after just four career starts, and the drying fast ground will be in his favour under regular rider Liam Keniry.

Newbury 3:05 (UK time)
David Simcock’s handicapper had been progressing nicely on the all-weather until trapped in a poor position in a muddling contest at Lingfield last time out (steadied to rear pulling hard initially), and he should be suited by a switch to fast turf at Newbury on Tuesday. A strongly run race is on the cards with a couple of likely frontrunners in the line up of this competitive Class 4, and Hayley Turner will be looking to weave her way fast and late on the promising 3-y-o.
Odds: NA
