There are 5 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with Chepstow and Musselburgh staging some cracking jumps racing and competitive fields to test the mettle of punters and bookmakers alike. On the flat, there is a turf meeting at Nottingham (with a listed contest at 2.16pm providing some welcome quality), while Dundalk and Kempton both race under lights through the early evening on the all-weather.

Joe Tizzard is very much a trainer to follow over the next few months, and his unexposed 6-y-o is fancied to make a winning chasing debut at Chepstow on Wednesday. He ran with credit in victory and defeat in fair company last winter over hurdles, and is every inch a chaser on looks (with plenty more improvement to come and the excellent Brendan Powell taking over in the saddle).
