Wednesday’s Horse Racing Tips: Brighton, August 3rd

Today’s Horse Racing Tips – August 3rd
There are 6 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with the start of the Star Sports Brighton Festival the highlight on the south coast. The racing at this venue is usually modest at best, but exciting finishes are certain on the unique undulations overlooking the sea, and there are five competitive handicaps to get stuck into and a big crowd assured.
Elsewhere there is turf action from Pontefract, Sligo and Yarmouth to keep punters and bookmakers busy throughout the day. All-weather fans have the cards at Kempton and Newcastle to study, with low grade handicaps very much the order of the day.

Asense
Brighton 2:40 (UK time)
Gary Moore has a terrific record around the Sussex tracks both on the flat and over jumps, and his unexposed maiden is fancied to land this lowly handicap at Brighton on Wednesday. She remains a maiden after 8 career starts, but has only run twice on the turf when getting handicapped, and her recent efforts on the all-weather have been much more encouraging. The money went west when gambled on at Lingfield 28 days ago, but she caught the eye parked far too wide there, and is surely well capable of winning from such a lowly mark of 50 under Rhys Clutterbuck.

Today’s Value Angle
Grandstand
Brighton 2:10 (UK time)
Richard Price’s veteran 6-y-o dropped a big hint he was returning to top form when a running-on fourth at Chepstow last time out, and this lowly classified stakes looks a terrific opportunity under the excellent 5lb claimer Gina Mangan. He is a previous course and distance winner, which is a big plus on these unique undulations, and seems sure to go very close on fast ground that suits ideally.
Odds: NA
