There are seven meetings in Britain and Ireland on a busy and varied Wednesday, with competitive flat racing dominating from Bath, Carlisle, Kempton (AW), Punchestown, Southwell (AW) and Tramore. Jumping fans are in for a busy afternoon with Uttoxeter staging a typically interesting summer card.

Indication Call
Carlisle 2:40 (UK time)
Karl Burke has maintained a fantastic strike rate throughout the summer, with 7 winners in the last fortnight, and his smart juvenile has been found a good opening at Carlisle on Wednesday. He has shaped well without winning in four handicaps so far, and the stiff finish here on eased ground should be ideal under new 7lb claiming rider Brandon Wilkie (strong stayer at six furlongs and plenty of pace on/likely to set things up nicely late).
Odds: NA
Spantik
Carlisle 3:15 (UK time)
Roger Fell would not be the most regular visitor up north to Carlisle, and it looks significant that he has brought his in-form stayer here for this valuable prize. He returned to his very best when winning at Ripon last time out over two miles, making all and finding generously for pressure to see off a series of challengers, and Danny Tudhope is likely to employ similar tactics here from a slightly higher handicap mark (with decent eased ground conditions to suit).
Odds: NA
