There are 5 meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with flat action coming from Carlisle, Cork, Doncaster and Kempton. The highlight comes at Doncaster, with the start of their four day St Leger meeting, and the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at 3.35pm provides some welcome midweek quality over seven furlongs. For NH fans, there is a competitive card at Uttoxeter that seems sure to attract good field sizes, with six handicaps scheduled and the meeting getting underway at 1.00pm.

Hugo Palmer has enjoyed a terrific summer since taking over from Tom Dascombe, with his juveniles in particular doing very well, and this 2-y-o is fancied to make it fourth time lucky into handicaps at Carlisle on Wednesday. He looked a surefire future winner when shaping really well at Doncaster in August, and has had excuses since in fair company. Ben Curtis takes over in the saddle this afternoon, and he is fancied to swoop late from this lenient looking mark.
