There are four scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with NH fans in for an informative afternoon. They have Fairyhouse, Ludlow and Sedgefield to study on drying ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Shropshire venue. AW fans have low grade action to study at Kempton, with the lights coming on at 5.30pm at the Sunbury venue and the maidens/novice contests looking especially competitive for the time of year.
In this article:
Ballybeg
Ludlow 2:50 (UK time)
Kerry Lee’s useful 9-y-o has run with credit in victory defeat already this winter (getting off the mark over this course and distance in January), and should relish the emphasis on speed returning to Ludlow on Wednesday (with the trainer having an excellent record at this track over the years). He remains open to plenty more improvement after just five runs over fences, and this Class 5 looks an excellent opening under Richard Patrick (against rivals largely with plenty to prove at the moment).
Odds: NA
Masked Dance
Ludlow 3:20 (UK time)
Mel Rowley does very well with a small team of horses every winter, and her progressive mere looked one to follow up the weights when winning readily at Doncaster last time out. There is more to come after just seven runs over timber, and she ran a blinder over this course and distance when second to Only Fools in November (solid form for the grade that has worked out really well).
Odds: NA
