Wednesday's Horse Racing Tips: Thirsk, July 17th

Today’s Horse Racing Tips – July 17th
There are six scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with flat fans in for a fascinating afternoon and evening of varied action. They have Bath, Ffos Las, Killarney, Thirsk and Yarmouth to study, with some tough handicaps to try to crack at the popular Yorkshire venue. Jumping fans have a competitive summer card to study at Uttoxeter, with the action getting underway at 2.40pm at the Midlands venue and good field sizes likely after the recent rain.

Bustaam
Thirsk 2.22 (UK time)
David O’Meara has hit form with four winners in the north in the last fortnight, and his useful handicapper can bounce back to his best form at Thirsk on Wednesday. He seemed not to stay 1m5f on testing ground last time out at Hamilton, and this 1m4f should be ideal under Danny Tudhope (likely to appreciate this better surface with a bit of cut in the ground).
Odds: 7.00
Today’s Value Angle
Keldeo
Thirsk 2.52 (UK time)
Ollie Pears filly remains open to plenty more improvement after just eight career starts on the turf, and she should relish the drop back down in trip to the minimum 5f trip under Harry Russell. She ran really well at this track over six furlongs in June, running on strongly after a slow break, and more positive tactics are on the cards here after struggling in deep ground last time out at Ripon.
Odds: 7.00
