Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle Tips - Cheltenham 2021

Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle 2021 Tips – Day 4, 14:30

A fascinating clash of some very promising novices from both Britain and Ireland, and the market currently wide open at this stage (with running plans up in the air and the highly touted Dusart now set to miss the Festival after suffering a training setback at home according to Nicky Henderson).

Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle 2021 Preview

2021 sees a wide open renewal of the Albert Bartlett, with the bookmakers currently offering “5/1 the field” and the market headed by the progressive novice Stattler.

Willie Mullins has targetted this race since he finished a cracking third behind Galliard du Mesnil at Leopardstown in February, and it will be fascinating to see if he can confirm the form with the fourth home Fakiera (who has attracted the “right” cash in the last few weeks).

Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle 2021 Betting Tips

Fakiera, Favourite #1 for Stephen Harris

Gordon Elliott’s progressive performer very much shaped as though this stiffer test of stamina would suit him when finishing an eyecatching fourth in a strong Leopardstown Grade 1 in February, and he remains with loads of scope to improve after 7 runs over hurdles. Better ground promises to suit, and the yard has a terrifically strong hand with their novices this season.

Ngolo, Favourite #2 for Stephen Harris

Willie Mullins 6-y-o disappointed under a negative ride in a Leopardstown Grade 1 over Christmas, but had been progressing well previously over hurdles and is likely to bounce back to his best at the Festival under more positive riding tactics.

Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle Winners

The Albert Bartlett provides quite a stern test of stamina for a young inexperienced novice, but has been very popular since introduced to the Festival in 2005. There have been some high class winners over the years, with Bobs Worth in 2011 going on to land the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The 2020 winner Monkfish has also developed into a high class novice chaser, and the 2021 renewal is well worth watching again and again for future reference.
