Glorious Goodwood Day 1 Tips - Race Times & Fixtures
Glorious Goodwood Day 1 Tips for Tuesday
A compelling mix of top class and valuable Group races, fiendishly hard handicaps and a maiden for juveniles mean the opening day is a real delight for fans of the turf. The unique camber and undulations at Goodwood can mean the races are rough, with trouble in running commonplace especially in the huge field handicaps. There can often be a draw bias on the straight course, particulary if the rain arrives and eases the ground, and astute punters will watch the early races carefully to try and find betting clues for later in the week.

Glorious Goodwood 2020 Day 1 Races
The opening day at Glorious Goodwood really has something for everyone, with the Group 1 two mile Goodwood Cup undoubtedly the highlight at 3.35pm. There will be none of the usual fashion, style or atmosphere in 2020 with the entire 5 day meeting run behind closed doors (as a result of the ongoing effects of the global pandemic). The betting off-course promises to be as ferocious as usual, with three very hard handicaps to solve alongside the Group contests and a high quality maiden for precocius two year olds. Punters will see the prolific stayer Stradivarius as the banker of the afternoon, bidding to make history by winning the days feature race for a record breaking fourth consecutive time. Frankie Dettori will be on board again, and short odds are almost certain given his fantastic record at the top table in staying events over the years.
