I know what I've said in the preview for the first semifinals about season being balanced and how there isn't clear favourite to go all the way. But here in this Spanish duel, I must give clear edge to Barcelona and this is why. Simply, the team led by Šarunas Jaskevičius was in great form as of late and they are entering this F4 tournament in better momentum. Real Madrid on the other side was everything opposite. We know how they have reached this final tournament. Unlike Barcelona who swept series against Žalgiris with 3-0, Real was 0-2 down against Partizan but then made miracle comeback and won three games in a row. However, there is bitter taste in mouth if you know what everything was going on. Real players forced the fight late in Game 2 which resulted in suspensions on both teams but obviously Partizan was much more affected. With full rosters on both side, Partizan would finish the job probably already in G3. In any case, Real still feels consequences of that Quarterfinals series. Important player Yabusele was suspended on five matches so he can't play. Furthermore, two maybe even more important guys, Gabriel Deck and Vincent Poirier both have suffered injuries during previous series and won't be able to help. Finally, Real first center option, Walter Tavares is really dominant player but he wasn't at 100% either. And now I surely don't think he could be so dominant like against Partizan since Barcelona in face of Jan Vesely, Nikola Mirotić and Sertac Sanli has top big men to deal with Tavares. The only unavailable player for Barcelona is Cory Higgins. Finally, Real weakest point is a head coach. Barcelona with Jaskevičius certainly holds the edge. I feel we should trust Barcelona to take the job done in this first semifinals, if not to cover the spread then definitely to deliver on this Money Line option.
