EuroCup Basketball Fixtures
The EuroCup already has a 20-year-long history behind it. When it comes to the teams earning their spots, it depends on the positioning in the domestic leagues. This means that 20 qualified teams will start the regular season. These teams are divided into two groups, 10 a piece, where each team plays the other two times during this phase.
Six top teams from each group advance to the next phase of the competition. The top two from each group advance to the quarterfinals directly, while the teams positioned from third to sixth will go to the additional round of 16.
The playoff series is played in a best-out-of-three format, as the teams play against each other until the finals. The finals are played in the same format, with the advantage given to the team that had a better position after the Top 16 phase.
The 2025/26 EuroCup basketball season will be played on 30th September, 2025, while the first of the Final best-of-three games will be played on 22nd April, 2026. Hapoel Tel Aviv are the champions from last season, and they have taken their spot in the EuroLeague for this season.
Basketball EuroCup Favourites
In the 2025–26 BKT EuroCup, a clear pack of frontrunners is already forming, even if the field looks deeper than usual. Hapoel Midtown Jerusalem are at the heart of every favourites discussion; loaded with guards like Jared Harper and Cassius Winston and racking up multiple MVP of the Round performances, they’re widely labelled as genuine title contenders despite a slightly uneven start.
Budućnost VOLI Podgorica sit in that same top tier: a seasoned EuroCup club with size, experience and enough firepower to beat anyone on their night, regularly appearing in statement wins and highlight packages.
Turk Telekom Ankara also look built for a deep run, combining physical defense with efficient scoring, as shown by dominant wins such as their blowout over Niners Chemnitz.
From Spain, BAXI Manresa have forced their way into the favourites conversation by knocking off big names like Hapoel Jerusalem and showing they can close tight games in high-pressure environments.
U-BT Cluj-Napoca are another serious threat, with frontcourt star Dušan Miletić already taking MVP of the Round honours and the team consistently competing at a high level.
Add ambitious projects like the London Lions, backed by strong investment and a growing domestic profile, and you’ve got a EuroCup season where several clubs can realistically dream of lifting the trophy.
