Even with each team having played over 110 games, there’s still value to be found among MLB odds on Friday night. Here are our three best bets for tonight’s games.

The Atlanta Braves might have stuttered a bit since the trade deadline, but they are still deserving favourites over the New York Mets. New York sends Tylor Megill, owner of a 6.37 xERA, to the mound to matchup with veteran right-hander Charlie Morton.
Morton has had an up-and-down year, including a difficult last month. He generally keeps the Braves in games, though, and Atlanta’s offense has more than enough firepower to compensate if Morton does concede three or four runs in the first five.
Atlanta is tied with the Dodgers for the best wRC+ since the start of last month, while the Mets are languishing around league average. Only the Royals have covered the runline less frequently than the Mets.

Boston has gone on a rough 4-8 run, which has put a real dent in their postseason hopes. An unproductive offense has been their downfall. Even in a series win over the Royals this week, they scored just 15 runs across four games.
Tarik Skubal might have only made six starts in 2023, but the Tigers southpaw has shown enough to suggest he can keep this Red Sox lineup quiet. He has allowed no earned runs in four of his six starts and owns an exceptional 2.30 xERA.
Boston is 24th in wRC+ this month, and they haven’t exactly excelled against lefties in 2023. We love this price on Skubal to concede under 2.5 earned runs on Friday night.

The White Sox have the fourth-lowest wRC+ over the last month. Corbin Burnes has allowed under 5.5 hits in each of his last seven starts and ranks in the 74th percentile by expected batting average allowed on the season.
In fact, Burnes’ underlying metrics have only improved since the start of July, with a string of dominant performances helping the Brewers regain their position atop the National League Central.
On the season, the White Sox have the sixth-lowest expected batting average. Despite beating Gerrit Cole a few days ago, they mustered only five hits. We can’t see them making too much good contact against Burnes – this under is a great bet.
