The Toronto Blue Jays claimed victory against Kansas City on Monday night, and the Royals leveled the set at a game apiece on Tuesday night. The series’ rubber game is also the season’s last meeting between Toronto and Kansas City.
The Rogers Center fans weren’t left with a thrilling loss on Tuesday, 4 – 1, Chris Bassitt and Seth Lugo get the starting assignments on the mound for this afternoon’s affair in Toronto, and the Jays are listed as the favorites.
Our resident baseball expert Ej Garr has another Same-Game Parlay to suggest for the Blue Jays vs Royals game, so check out his prediction at +200 below!

The Kansas City Royals came away with a 4 – 1 win on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre against the Blue Jays, and the road team has already clinched the season series. The Royals earned three wins from the first four-game series with Toronto last week in Kansas City, although all those games were low-scoring.
All four meetings in that series were low-scoring games, and the total has hit the Under in five of the six games that the Jays and Royals have played in 2024.
I don’t think the same trend will continue on Hump Day in Canada because of one name I see on the mound today. I do not trust Chris Bassitt to hold the Royals bats down long enough to keep him in the game into the 6th or 7th inning.
Bassitt didn’t last 3 innings in his last start against the Dodgers here at Rogers Centre, as he gave up a pair of home runs and seven earned runs picking up the loss. If you hadn’t noticed, Bassitt has given up a home run in all but one of his six starts this season.
The Royals don’t rely on the long ball to find their runs, but they will be looking for good pitches to hit on Wednesday in the Great North!
I call for a 9 – 6 Royals win, and it points me to a Same-Game Parlay with lovely odds. The Royals Team Total Over 4.5 is plus-money, and the Royals are underdogs at +116 if you are a Pinnacle member.
We’re getting +200 if we put them together, so enjoy the price on the return. I hope you remembered to fade Steven Matz on Tuesday after his start was rained out on Monday. He got shelled, and game 2 was easy cash on Detroit ML and their team total… Only 11 runs, HA!
Now back at the .500 mark with a 15 – 15 record, Toronto has already lost the season series with the Royals after five years of dominance against Kansas City.
Kevin Keirmeier left the April 23rd game for the Jays, and his timetable to return from a hip injury is still unknown. Keirmeier is not having a season to remember with his lowest career batting average as a pro in 2024 at .193 in 22 games played.
Toronto will close out this series with the Royals today and have Thursday off to travel. Oddly, the Jays will play five games over the next eight days with three days off in between. The Jays will head to Washington for three days, and after another day off will play a brief 2-game set against Philadelphia.
After another day off, the schedule-makers have the Jays going home for three games against Minnesota, and then they travel again.
The Royals’ pitching staff is decimated with injuries this season. With six starters on the shelf with a pair of relievers, Jordan Lyles is struggling with being sent to the bullpen, so he is away from the team figuring out his role with the Royals. With only five appearances, Lyles has been absent since April 12.
Cole Ragans is day-to-day with a calf strain, so there is potential that he could miss his next start this week.
The Royals will wrap up this series in Toronto and have Thursday off to return home. Kansas City will host a three-game set against Texas before the Brewers arrive in town to wrap up a six-game home stand.
