Anadolu Efes welcome Olimpia Milano to Sinan Erdem Dome tonight at 18:00 (UK time) hoping to bring this series to an end at home. They are heavy favourites, and most of the money is landing on them, but I’m backing Olimpia Milano to put the clamps down on their guards and keep the game close. It’s do-or-die for Ettore Messina’s boys, and I expect their defence to show up tonight.

The defending Euroleague champions Anadolu Efes are looking to close out the series in front of their home fans, and are available at 1.27 odds to get the job done. They haven’t had the best season coming after the title, finishing 6th in the Euroleague standings with 16 wins and 12 losses. Their form was subpar in the late stage of the season, finishing with 6 wins and 5 losses, but they have started the series in solid fashion and are now enjoying a 2-1 lead. Efes scored an average of 81.9 points per game whilst allowing 79.5, and their poor defence has prevented them from repeating last year’s success so far, but they have been more than solid in this series, allowing just 62 points per game.

Meanwhile, Olimpia Milano finished the season 3rd in the league standings with 21 wins and 11 losses. They were one of the best teams in the league all season, but their form dropped significantly in the late regular season, losing 4 of their last 8 games. Olimpia weren’t a terrible offensive side, averaging 73 points per game, but they have struggled in games where the opposition plays tough D. Their defence has been solid all season, including this series where they are averaging 69 points per game allowed.

Efes couldn’t have hoped for a better situation in the series. As the 6th seed, they stole Game 1 from Olimpia in Milano, and took care of business in their first home game of the series, winning by a 12-point margin. They lost both of their regular-season encounters against Milano, but Ergin Ataman’s squad have been the better side in the series. Their defence has seen a significant improvement, and their dynamic duo of Vasilije Micic and Shane Larkin is taking care of business on offence. But they are heavy favourites in this game, and with 97% of bettors backing them to win, they aren’t holding any value.

Ettore Messina and his boys are desperate to hold on in the series and take the game back to home territory, where they have seen a  lot of success this year. Their offence was ineffective last time out, hitting just 8 of 29 three-point attempts and finishing with just 65 points. Shavon Shields had a very quiet scoring night, netting just 9 points with terrible shooting percentages, and Devon Hall was their top scorer with 16 points. However, they crashed the boards a lot, and I expect Messina’s team to try and dominate the glass once again, especially if their offence struggles to get going.

Anadolu Efes vs Olimpia Milano Bet Builder Tips

  • Under 148.5
  • Shavon Shields Over 4.5 rebounds
  • Vasilije Micic Under 4.5 assists

Bet Builder is available at 5.00 odds at bet365 as of 3 pm April 28th 2022.

All 3 games in this series have gone well below the set 148.5 point line, and I’m expecting another Under. Both teams are playing solid defence, and it should get even higher in intensity in this potential elimination game.

Shields has averaged 4.1 rebounds per game in the regular season, but he has been much better on the boards in the last 2 games, going for 8 and 6 rebounds.

Micic has been the centrepiece of Efes’ attack, but he hasn’t been the main distributor. Micic has averaged 4.6 assists per game, but Milano’s defensive pressure has kept him to 3 and 4 assists in games 1 and 2. He finished game 3 just barely over the line with 5 assists, but I expect a fair bit of pressure on him in this game.
