It has been a disappointing season for both the Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks. Playing their third game in four nights, the Nets are going to be dealing with fatigue here, while the Hawks’ NBA season was derailed further with news Trae Young will be out for at least a month.

The Nets have a win probability of 57% while the Hawks are listed at 2.10 odds to win in the moneyline. The total points line is at 224.5 points and the handicap is 1.5 points.

BROOKLYN NETS VS ATLANTA HAWKS SAME-GAME PARLAY:

Atlanta Hawks moneyline

Missing Trae Young might seem like a blow for the Hawks. Atlanta is actually 2.2 points per 100 possessions better without Young in 2023-24, however, and they come into this game off big wins over the Magic and Jazz.

Brooklyn looked like a passable team early in the season. They are not. After starting 13-10, they have gone 9-26. Only the Wizards and Blazers have a worse net rating in February. It’s surprising the Hawks are underdogs here.

Brooklyn Nets under 113.5 points

Brooklyn’s 104.8 offensive rating this month is the joint second-worst in the Association. The injury-depleted Memphis Grizzlies are the only team with a worse mark than Brooklyn.

Unsurprisingly, Atlanta’s defensive rating improves by 2.8 without Young. Brooklyn has gone under this team total in six consecutive games.

Dejounte Murray over 8.5 assists

Dejounte Murray has dropped 11 assists in each of the games since Trae Young’s injury. His 29 potential assists over those two games puts him well above his season average, and it’s no surprise his usage skyrockets without Young.

Brooklyn are a subpar defensive team despite their personnel. Murray should be able to pick them apart on Thursday night – let’s not forget this guy averaged 9.2 dimes per game in his last season with the Spurs.
