Tuesday night sees the WNBA’s best team in action at Wintrust Arena, meaning it’s a good opportunity to make some Chicago Sky vs Las Vegas Aces Bet Builder tips. Tipping off at midnight UK time, the Aces are looking to extend their five-game winning streak.
Chicago defeated the Seattle Storm a couple of days ago, but they remain without Isabelle Harrison and Rebekah Gardner. The Aces have a clear injury report.
US, WNBA, 26th July, 00:00 (UK)
Odds via Bet365 as at 09:00, 25th July 2023. Odds may now differ.
Since starting the season 5-3, the Sky have suffered five losses by 15 or more points. Las Vegas has blown teams out on a regular basis, claiming five consecutive wins by 16 or more.
Only the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm have a worse net rating than Chicago across their previous 14 games, while the Aces have posted a +21.9 over that span, which is miles better than any other team in the Association.
The Sky have the worst record against the spread this season, going 8-13. That trend should continue on Tuesday night, with the Aces proving too strong for every team in the league so far. Las Vegas has already beaten the Sky by 13 points this season, and we fancy their chances of adding at least a couple to that margin.
Las Vegas dropped 93 points when these teams last met. They are playing at the second-highest pace and scoring the most points per game with by far the best offensive rating across their previous 10 games.
While Chicago has a good defence, and generally slows the game down, they still have their work cut out to keep this potent Aces offence under 88.5 points. The Aces are packed with firepower, and have passed this line in seven of their last nine games.
Even though Chicago have kept most teams below this number, the Aces are a different beast altogether, led by A’Ja Wilson and Jackie Young.
The injury-hit Los Angeles Sparks are the only team with a lower offensive rating than the Sky over the last 10. Chicago’s 50.3% true shooting across that span is the worst in the league, which doesn’t bode well against an Aces defence which has conceded the lowest opponent field-goal percentage.
The Sky average only 77.5 points per game for the season. While they scored 80 when they last faced the Aces, and will benefit from Las Vegas pushing the pace, it seems unlikely they can break the 80-point barrier here.
Chicago has gone under this line in eight of their last 11 games, averaging just 73.8 points across their last five.
