It might not be the final fans (or bookies) were expecting, but there’s still tonnes of value to be found as we weigh up our Germany vs Serbia bet builder tips. Germany are appearing in their first FIBA World Cup final on Sunday after defeating the USA in the semis, while Serbia are looking to go one better than they did in 2014.

Odds via Bet365 as at 16:30, 8th September 2023. Odds may now differ.
Serbia opened as 2.5-point underdogs for the final. Germany’s win over the USA always made it likely they would be favourites here, but Serbia have been excellent throughout this tournament and beat the Canadians by nine points in the last four.
Where Germany’s size proved a huge advantage against the USA, with Jaren Jackson and Paolo Banchero struggling, they are not going to be able to overpower Serbia in the same way. Serbia’s ball movement will also be trickier for the Germans to guard after the USA slipped into one-on-one too frequently.
Don’t be put off by Serbia’s defeat to Italy in EuroBasket last year. Italy and Greece are the only teams to beat them since last August. Serbia are a force to be reckoned with and represent great value as underdogs in this final.
Serbia have hit the over on this line in three of their last five. Germany have regularly gone under this number during the World Cup, but that is more down to the defence than offence, given that they have scored 100+ points in four of their previous five.
We’re expecting Serbia’s offence to enjoy more success against this German defence than other teams have. Germany’s defence was solid against the USA, but they still allowed 111 points.
This projects to be a close game between two well-balanced, talented teams. Both teams have been efficient offensively throughout the World Cup, and that’s a trend we expect to continue here. Look for both teams to post 90+ points.
