Our resident college hoops expert Ej Garr finished last week on a tear and he is turning to a big match in the Big 12 Conference for his Monday best bet. In case you are wondering, Ej isn’t making another 1st-Half play on Kansas in this spot, and that’s because the total is on his mind when Cincinnati visits Allen Fieldhouse on Monday night.

KANSAS JAYHAWKS VS CINCINNATI BEARCATS PICKS AND PREDICTION

I wonder how many people saw I had a Kansas game on the board today and figured I must have another 1st-half bet on the Jayhawks tonight, but I don’t. Kansas is favoured by -7.5 points at home tonight, but the line setters posted a 145.5 on this total, and I cannot let that number just sit there!

I imagine that Kansas Head Coach Bill Self is not a happy camper at the moment, and that’s because his squad just got torched for 91 points on Saturday which amounted to another loss in Big 12 play for the Jayhawks. Now at 3 – 2 in the conference table, Kansas sits back in fifth place on the Big 12 standings with a 3 – 2 record even though they have only lost three games this entire campaign.

First of all, let me say this! The Big 12 Conference IS LOADED WITH TALENT! The top 11 teams in the Big 12 Conference feature no teams with more than five losses this season, and the rankings are full of teams from this conference. There are eight Big 12 teams in the top 25 as of Sunday night, although a new set of rankings will be out by the time we wake up on Monday morning.

Kansas is still ranked 3rd in the nation even though they are not even in the top-5 of their conference standings. That loss to West Virginia on Saturday could affect that status, however, but it is way too early for any program to get concerned with such a thing with so much basketball left to be played.

I love this total to death, and I knew as soon as I saw any number in the 140s that we were going to smash this Over to pieces to start the week.

Cincinnati totals are 10 – 8 to the over this season, and yes, they are only 2 – 3 in Big 12 play but Kansas is a different animal, especially at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks are averaging nearly 80 PPG this season, and they rank 4th in the nation splashing 51% of their field goals.

Dajuan Harris Jr. averaging almost 7 assists per game for Kansas this year, and he is a big reason why the Jayhawks are the #1 team in all of college hoops when it comes to dropping dimes. As you look up and down the Kansas roster, unselfish is the first word that should hit you. Everyone on Bill Self’s squad has no issue making that extra pass to get a good look at the rim.

Don’t be misled by the fact that Cincinnati doesn’t have a prolific scorer on their roster, as their leading points-getter only takes in 13 PPG. Viktor Lakhin has improved his game in all 3 years with the Bearcats, and Cincy has nearly five players who bring in double-digits a game.

Here it is… 78 – 74! When 152 points hit the scoreboard, you’ll have a winning ticket in your hands when you bet this Over 145.5 on Monday. I expect this to be a close game that comes down to the final minute of play, and the late free throws will come in handy. Kansas is one of the best free-throw-shooting teams in the country, and that could end up being the difference in this game.
