After a shocking loss at the start of the playoffs on Tuesday, Monaco will have another opportunity to win on their home court and tie the series against the Israeli powerhouse to 1-1. Maccabi, taking into consideration their home court preferences and strength, are happy with the break they made and will be heading back to Tel Aviv with a psychological advantage whatever the result tonight.

Monaco have scored fewer than 70 points in the first game with very weak performances by their main superstars, Mike James and Jordan Loyd. Maccabi are not known for their defence and it is obvious that some things are not clicking offensively for the home side. If they want to make an impact in this year’s competition, Monaco will have to bounce back tonight because going 0-2 at Nokia Arena is equal to elimination.
Monaco have won all home games against Maccabi until two days ago, with an average margin of 14 points. We are counting on their sense of urgency tonight to push them over the line against a Maccabi side that is already happy with the results they have achieved on the road in this series.
Maccabi have been in the top 3 teams in Euroleague in the past couple of months. Wade Baldwin and Lorenzo Brown have grown into the most dangerous back-court in Europe. Everyone already knows their home record and how good they are when playing in Tel Aviv. We strongly believe the series is over even after this first victory they took. They will be without A. Hollins due to a knee injury while J, Adams is out to a shoulder injury.
The moneyline looks fine from our point of view. Monaco are slight favourites, quality is on their side but the momentum and tactical preparation is heavily in favour of Maccabi. In a 5 game series, we don’t believe Monaco will be able to come on top but we are playing against a sweep tonight.
It is very unrealistic for Monaco to get swept. We are lucky the moneyline is very good for betting, as we were expecting a home win at 1.57 odds. Monaco will do everything to win tonight’s game and extend the series for at least 2 more games.
Odds as of 12:00 pm April 27th 2023. Odds may now differ.
